The Google Business Profile is more important for local businesses than any advertising: It puts you on the map, shows opening hours and collects reviews – free of charge. Here is the step-by-step guide for doing it yourself. No time? We take care of everything for a flat rate of CHF 49.–.
Takes about 20 minutes in total. All you need: a Google account and your phone.
Open google.com/business and sign in with a Google account – ideally with a business address to which you have permanent access.
≈ 2 minutesEnter your business name. If your company already appears (Google sometimes creates listings automatically), select it and claim it as the owner. Otherwise: «Add business».
Choose the most suitable main category (e.g. «Carpentry», «Restaurant», «Hair salon») and enter your address. Do customers visit you on site? Then activate the location display – this is how you appear on the map.
≈ 3 minutesEnter your phone number and provide your new address as the website – e.g. ihre-firma.ch. This link counts as a strong trust signal for Google and brings visitors directly to you.
Google verifies that you are really the owner: depending on the business, via video call, phone or postcard (takes 5–14 days). The profile is only publicly visible after confirmation.
Opening hours, a short company description and 5–10 good photos (exterior view, team, work). Profiles with photos receive significantly more enquiries – you can reuse the images from your Pixify website.
≈ 10 minutesShare your review link with satisfied customers – via WhatsApp, on the invoice or as a QR code. You will find it in your business profile under «Share review form». Reply to every review: Google sees this and so do future customers.
The bonus for Pixify customers: Enter the link in your customer panel under Content → Google Reviews – your stars and the number of your reviews will then automatically appear as a Google badge in the footer of your website. Every new review thus directly strengthens your online presence.
Bing has fewer users in Switzerland, but: hardly any competition – and the listing is almost effortless thanks to the Google import.
Go to bingplaces.com and sign in with a Microsoft account (free to create).
Select «Import from Google My Business» – Bing automatically imports your name, address, opening hours and photos from your completed Google profile. That is exactly why the order matters: Google first, then Bing.
Briefly check your details, complete the confirmation via e-mail or phone – done. Your business will now also appear in Bing Maps and the Windows search.
💡 And visibility in Google Search? That is already taken care of with Pixify: For every customer website we set up Google Search Console fully automatically – your search terms and click figures are available at any time in the customer panel under «Analytics».
Website + Google profile from a single source – so you are found everywhere.
